Why homeowners choose LVP
Quality luxury vinyl plank is waterproof, scratch-resistant and comfortable underfoot. It's an excellent choice for kitchens, laundry rooms, basements and rentals — anywhere real hardwood would worry you.
- 100% waterproof core options
- Realistic wood textures and long plank lengths
- Quieter and warmer than tile
- Can be installed over most existing hard surfaces
Not all LVP is the same
The biggest differences between budget and premium LVP are the wear layer thickness, the core (SPC rigid core vs. WPC), and the quality of the locking system. A thicker wear layer resists scratches better; a rigid core handles slight subfloor imperfections and temperature changes. We'll bring samples at different price points and explain what you're paying for.
Prep is what makes LVP last
Most LVP failures we see — peaking, gaps, clicking sounds — come from skipping prep. We check flatness with a straightedge, grind high spots, fill low spots with leveling compound and use the right underlayment for your subfloor. Expansion gaps are planned and hidden under trim, and transitions are clean and safe.
On slab-on-grade homes and basements, we test moisture first and recommend the right vapor barrier so your floor stays flat and stable for years.
Whole-home installs
Many of our LVP customers replace carpet and dated tile throughout the main floor for one continuous look. We'll plan plank direction, stair nosings and transitions so the whole home flows together.
